An Emerald Island Iced Tea

This St Patrick’s Day my girls and I wanted to make a ridiculous green drink “punch like” beverage, like a slightly elevated jungle juice. When else can you make something so sicking-ly sweet and green without feeling judgement, than St Patrick’s Day? Our intention was to follow a recipe from Tipsy Bartender, but life happens, so we had to go rogue. The result was a beautiful vibrant hue of green that went down easy.

Would I drink this every day? No way. But I’m more of a beer and whiskey kind of girl. But if you have a theme party and need something green… Well, girl I got you!

Follow along below for the recipe!

  • Green Apples (sliced)
  • Whiskey
  • Sour Apple Vodka
  • Sour Apple Pucker
  • Blue Curacao
  • Apple Juice
  • Sprite
  • Pineapple Passionfruit Soda (could sub fresca or your favorite tropical soda or sub more sprite and apple juice)

Place your sliced apples in a bowl and splash in some whiskey. Just enough to soak a majority of the fruit. Let your fruit soak at least 20 minutes or long enough for you to order and pick up a pizza and billion breadsticks. Longer if you plan far enough ahead.

In a large bowl, punch bowl, or container (I used the largest mixing bowl I had) add ice and pour in your sliced apples. If there is remaining whiskey, add that as well.

Add whiskey, about a quarter of a bottle. Next add sour apple vodka and sour apple pucker.

Add apple juice.

Add a good splash of blue curacao. You really only want to add enough to enhance the color of your drink.

Top with sprite and passonfruit soda.

Be sure to taste test, since there are no set amounts for this punch. We ended up adding more whiskey and apple juice to mellow out the punch.

Pour drinks with a few slices of apples and enjoy!
