I made Wookie Gingerbread Cookies! I have been wanting to make these ever since A Force Awakens came out 2 years ago, and I finally did it! I used the “healthy” gingerbread cookie recipe from Mind Over Munch. I don’t regret it for one moment. The cookies turn out so good. They are soft and chewy and full of that holiday gingerbread flavor!
I’m not going to cover the cookie recipe here, since it’s not mine! But you can check out my video on YouTube for a little inspiration.
To make these into WOOKIES follow below:
After making the gingerbread cookie dough of your choice, cut cookies into gingerbread man shape. Step Two: Using a fork add lines all over cookie to add “fur-like” texture.
NOTE: Since I made my cookie dough using homemade oat flour, my cookies already had a lot of texture, so I feel like I could have honestly skipped this step.
Bake cookies according to your favorite cookie recipe. Let cool completely before continuing to decorate.
Using melted chocolate (I used dark chocolate because YUM) in a piping bag with a number 5 tip, pipe 4-5 lines of chocolate from underneath the wookies left arm to just above his right arm. This is the start of your wookie’s bandolier, duh. With that same melted chocolate add your wookie’s eyes and nose. Just dots of chocolate!
Now using white chocolate, add details to the bandolier. Your wookies might be holding onto extra ammunition, grenades, supplies of syntherope, or maybe some space snacks. If I were a wookie, I would have snacks on me at all times.
But I think that’s obvious.
Dots of white chocolate will do for your details. Also add a thin line for the mouth. Hopefully your mouths will turn out a little bit better than mine. I was hungry for gingerbread cookies at this point and over decorating them.
This is what a wookie cookie looks like after proper quality testing. Just in case you wanted to know.
What do you do with all that extra chocolate? Well, that’s a great question. The dark chocolate tastes good right out of the piping bag. The white chocolate tastes great as a dip for your gingerbread cookie.
Oh, you still have extra chocolate?
Then write out some of your favorite Star Wars quotes!
“Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi. You’re my only hope.” (for eating all these cookies)
“I’ve got a bad feeling about this.” (but not about these cookies!)
“Thank the maker!” (for all these delicious cookies)
“I find your lack of faith (or cookies) disturbing.”
“It’s a traaap!”
I just got married (and had just watched Return of the Jedi), so I went romantic.
